    Functions of the Department

    The Directorate of Departmental Accounts, Uttarakhand is an integral part of the state’s Finance department. Its primary role is to regulate and manage the service-related matters of Accounts Cadre officers and employees posted across various government departments.

    As per Government Order No. 73/XXVII(6)/2015 dated 28th February 2015, the former Directorate of Accounts and Entitlements, Uttarakhand was reorganized and established as the Directorate of Departmental Accounts, Uttarakhand. In accordance with the various government order issued by the finance department of Uttarakhand Government, the Directorate has been designated as the appointing authority for all Accounts Cadre Officers and Employee including Assistant Accountant, Accountant , Assistant Accounts Officers posted in various government departments, as well as for all personnel posted in the Directorate and Finance Advisor Offices across the districts.

    Key Functions:

    Appointment and Posting of Accounts Cadre Employee

    The Directorate is responsible for the appointment, transfer,  and posting of Assistant Accounts Officers and other accounts personnel Like Assistant Accountant and Accountant in various government departments.

    Cadre Management at the State Level

    The Directorate prepares and maintains the state-level seniority and eligibility lists of Accounts Cadre Employee posted in different government departments. These Seniority lists are used to determine promotions to the post of Accountant and Assistant Accounts Officer.

    Promotion and Posting

    Based on eligibility and seniority, the Directorate conducts timely promotions and placements of eligible candidates to higher posts within the Accounts Cadre.

    Oversight of District Finance Advisor Offices

    The Directorate supervises the staffing and functioning of  Financial Advisor Offices in all districts of the state.

    Implementation of Policy Guidelines

    It ensures the implementation of state government’s financial policies related to the Accounts Cadre and maintains transparency and consistency in all service-related procedures.

    Through these functions, the Directorate ensures efficient service management, professional growth of Accounts Cadre employees, and a disciplined approach to financial administration across the Government of Uttarakhand.
